Storm drain cleaning using hydrojetting is widely used by our Los Angeles plumbers.
It is the most effective drain cleaning method to clear a storm drain clog.
A fully functional residential or commercial drainage system depends on the owner following a regular maintenance schedule. This involves semi-annual or annual video camera storm drain inspections and hydrojetting.
When it rains, it better drain!
Storm drains are often referred to as area drains, surface drains or rain drains. Whatever you call it, the principle function is the same: to collect storm rain water runoff from a surface area location and carry it underground to a main branch line. This main line in turn carries the water to an exit location like a street, roadway curb or storm drain built by Los Angeles.

All residential or commercial drains are made from plastic, steel or brass and installed 1' to 3' underground by slope staking. They vary between 3" to 24" in diameter and can be square or round. In many Los Angeles homes a seamless roof gutter downspouts directly into the storm drain pipe underground instead of the traditional sectional rain gutter.
Each storm drain comes equipped with a catch basin that is protected by a grate. Unfortunately the catch basin can become clogged from small debris falling through its grating. Tree leaves and branches, rocks and sand, rodents and reptiles can accumulate along the entire length of the line and cause problems.
In this example we use the hydrojetting method to clear tree roots infesting a clogged storm drain line.
The jetter’s tiny pin holes spray water at thousands of pounds of pressure per second.
The jetter’s back-n-forth motion pulls itself down the entire length of the main branch line.
Hydrojetting clears away tree root clogs so the line can drain water on the city street.
